Dystopia: What is to be done?

  • Category: Documentary
  • Genre: Environment
  • Director: Garry Potter

The film analyzes a compendium of crises humanity faces: peak oil, climate change, poverty, pollution, disease, war and terrorism. The film presents their complex interrelations in a series of dramatic images and compelling argument. It frames the problems within the context of global capitalism and the struggle against it as a battle for hearts and minds. The struggle to see through ideology thus is literally a struggle to save the world. What is required is pessimism of the intellect and optimism of the will; this film projects both.
