IMTF invites you to enter the world’s first movie trailer contest exclusively for videos made using cameraphones and tablets.
The trailers must be for movies not yet produced, in other words, for movies still in the dream stage. We’ll accept all genres including fiction films, documentaries and web series.
The key rules are:
1. The trailer must be no longer than 2 minutes.
2. The trailer must be shot on a cameraphone or tablet.
3. External microphones and attached lenses are OK.
4. Editing may be done on another device.
Up to 10 semifinalists will be chosen: five by popular vote and five by the IMTF staff. From these, a jury of industry professionals–including celebrated producer Scott Rosenfelt–will select three finalists. Then audiences from around the world will pick the Grand Prize winning trailer by voting online and in selected movie theaters. (“Turn on your mobiles and vote!”)
The grand prize winner will receive $3,000 plus support to make the movie represented by the winning trailer. Other prizes to be announced in the coming months.
Students enrolled in any school enter for free. Everyone else pays $15 until November 30, 2012. Don’t procrastinate. Simply make your trailer, upload it to YouTube.com, and then complete the simple entry form that you’ll find on this page.
To qualify, your entry must be posted by December 31, 2012. But IMTF reserves the right to extend the deadline.
